About Heather King

I’m a wife to a wonderful husband and a work-at-home mom to three beautiful girls.  I’m a worship leader at my church in Virginia, a Bible Study teacher and women’s ministry leader.  You can find me blogging at http://heathercking.wordpress.com/ and writing articles and book reviews at: http://www.womensbiblecafe.com/, http://rubyforwomen.com/, and www.myfrienddebbie.com.  My new DSCF2165book: Ask Me Anything, Lord: Opening Our Lives To God’s Questions will be coming out in Fall 2013.

Most importantly, I’m a follower of Christ.

I live a life of doing dishes, folding laundry, finding lost toys and mending scraped knees.  I trek to the grocery store more times a week than I want and struggle to keep up with chores and appointments and the to-do list that seems to refresh itself day after day.

Somewhere in the middle of the noise, mess and speed of life, this insanely busy woman takes time to meet with God at the kitchen table.  Just me, my Bible, my journal and my cup of strong hot tea with lots of sugar.

And that’s when I breathe.  Without my kitchen table moments with God, I’d die.  I’d slowly suffocate from lack of breath.  But God is “solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul” (Psalm 61:1-2, MSG).

Maybe it’s not just me who needs the reminder to breathe in and out.  So, let’s spend some time together.  Over a cup of tea or coffee, we’ll journey through the everyday, sharing our hearts and letting His Word give us Room to Breathe.

You can always contact me at heatherking@cox.net.  I’d love to hear from you!

    Hey Heather,
Today when I was working on my laptop which was reimaged I saw the link to your blog James had given to me. I placed it on my favorites again and read yesterdays blog. I enjoyed it very much. You have the talent to speak to the heart. Thank you for your inspiration. ~Lia @ CW

Thank you Heather for praying for our children. They are one of God’s greatest blessings! I would like for you to pray for my son, Hunter. He is starting 6th grade today at Peasley.

Hi Heather, I just found your page and want to thank you for blessing me so! We are in a transition time in our life and likely moving to Virginia, so I am curious where you go to church? This article spoke so beautifully to my frantic feeling heart. I trust Jesus as my Lord and Savior yet I stumble into chaos when I start trying to see what’s ahead for us. I choose to serve Him with everything and I know he will provide everything we need, just nice to have some affirmation through your words today! Thank you!

    • Jill, I struggle with this all the time, wanting to know in advance the whole plan instead of being able to rest and trust God with it all. I’m praying for your move and this transition for your family. I’m trusting that God will give you such a beautiful and amazing testimony from the experience! I go to a small rural church in Eastern Virginia, not too far from Williamsburg. When you know for sure where you all will be moving, by all means, drop me a message: heatherking@cox.net! I’d love to be of help in your transition if I possibly can! Blessing to you!
